Panther Lima
Braking system: Girling and AP Lockheed
The Panther Lima is a two-seater roadster produced by the British car manufacturer Panther Westwinds from 1976 to 1982. The body, made of glass fibre-reinforced plastic (GRP), was designed by the company's founder, Robert Jankel. This compact sports car measured 3.61 meters in length, 1.61 meters in width, and weighed just 885 kilograms.
The Lima was powered by four-cylinder engines sourced from the Vauxhall Viva. Buyers could choose between a 2.3-liter naturally aspirated engine (2279 cc) producing 74 kW (100 bhp) or a turbocharged version with 2.3 liters of displacement (2295 cc) delivering 80 kW (108 bhp). Power was transmitted to the wheels via either a manual four-speed gearbox or a three-speed automatic transmission. The chassis components were also derived from the Vauxhall Viva. The Panther Lima was the predecessor to the Panther Kallista, which was built from 1982 onwards.
