Castrol Red Rubber Grease is a soft, red special grease based on castor oil, specifically formulated for rubber-to-rubber lubrication where effects such as hardening or swelling of rubber must be avoided – unlike conventional mineral oil‑based greases.

The grease is based on a vegetable oil (castor oil) thickened with a calcium soap. It is non-injurious to natural rubber (NR) and SBR (styrene-butadiene rubber) components .

Rubber compatible: Prevents swelling, hardening and cracking of rubber seals and boots

Brake fluid compatible: Suitable for DOT 3, DOT 4, Super DOT 4, DOT 4 Plus and DOT 5.1

Temperature range: -40 °C to +110 °C, non-melting (no dropping point)

Corrosion protection: Protects metal parts from rust and corrosion

Water insoluble: Reliable protection against moisture ingress

Good mechanical stability: Remains stable under load

Applications:

Dry zones of hydraulic brake systems (e.g., behind seals in brake calipers and wheel cylinders)

Clutch hydraulics – master and slave cylinders

Assembly aid for rubber seals, O‑rings and boots on brakes and clutches

Suspension rubber components – rubber bushes and spring mounts (where specified by manufacturer)

Classic & vintage cars – especially for vehicles with natural rubber seals
